This is the record of a two-month journey through Southeast Asia and Japan. After years of pent-up wanderlust, I decided to leave my comfortable job as a technology journalist to travel a continent I knew almost nothing about. With almost no plan other than to purchase a motorbike and ride it from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi (a roughly 1200-mile journey), I left home to find adventure among the nations of Vietnam, Laos, Thailand, and Japan.

Most of what’s written here was composed during my stay in Asia, mainly in the form of letters to loved ones. At the behest of friends, I decided to publish those words alongside photos and other musings.

This is the result of that project. This is my precious little travel blog.
